U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service seeks protection of northern long-eared bat

The U. S. Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) wants to protect the northern long-eared bat through the Endangered Species Act, Richmond-based environmental group Center for Biological Diversity said. The environmental group said FWS proposed granting Endangered Species Act protection to the long-eared species of bat that suffered deadly disease called white-nose syndrome.
