Miners to march on EPA against climate rule
Hundreds of current and retired miners and their families are set to march through Washington on Tuesday to protest the administration's signature climate rule on power plants.
The past and present members of the United Mine Workers of America (UMWA) will hold a rally and march to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) headquarters in D.C. They declare the rule proposed by the EPA on carbon pollution from existing power plants will result in the loss of "tens of thousands" of coal mining jobs...more

If power plants can convert to cleaner burning natural gas I see no reason why they should not. On the other hand what if something catastrophic should happen to the flow? We should have mega tons of coal set aside for emergencies. Like our Strategic Petroleum Reserve. We could store this coal in strategically placed, easy to get to locations...like the streets of downtown Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City.
