Most amphibians never grow over a foot long, but the Chinese giant salamander anything but normal.
This nearly five-foot-long salamander was found inside of a cave near
the city of Chongqing. According to official estimates, the amphibian
weighs 52 kilograms, or 114 pounds. This particular salamander is also
estimated to be up to 200 years old.
