Song Of The Day #295

Ranch Radio will bring you some "answer songs" this week. We'll start with two classics by Hank Thompson & Kitty Wells: The Wild Side Of Life & It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels.

I remember reading somewhere that this same melody went to #1 on the charts 4 times. The two offered here, The Great Speckled Bird by Roy Acuff and for the life of me I can't remember the fourth this morning. If you know, please email me.

I wonder how many miles I've danced to Hank Thompson. Bandera for the opening of deer season, Rio Palm Isle, Panther Hall on New Years Eve, and too many more to remember. Thanks, Cowboy! If you get the answer on the fourth song-PLEASE post it. It's driving me nuts. BTW, for forty years Hank Thompson opened every dance/show with the same song. Do you remember what it was?

Herb, I only got to dance to Hank Thompson once. It was at the state fairgrounds in Albuquerque, I got there late and not exactly sober. So no, don't know. Please inform us.
