Eight out of 10 Americans say that the situation at the U.S. border
with Mexico is at least a serious problem that needs to be addressed, a
surge from the beginning of the year, according to a new poll.
A Washington Post–ABC News poll released
Tuesday found that 45 percent of Americans say that the number of
illegal border crossings along the U.S.-Mexico border is "a serious
problem," while a smaller percentage, 35 percent, say that it has become
a "crisis." Just 18 percent of Americans say that the number of border crossings has not caused a serious problem, according to the survey.
