NAIS - PREMISES REGISTRATION

Go here for the latest statistics on premises registration by state. Conneticut has the lowest percentage of registrations at 0.7%, the national average is 30.6% and New Mexico is 10.4%.

Something to keep in mind is that the USDA has no clue as to just how many actual premises there are. They reduced their count last year of national premises in order to make their statistics look better. But at the same time they say every premises with even one covered animal will need to be registered. My estimate puts the number of premises at over 9,000,000 which is about six times what they are using for their percent registration. The number may be two to three times higher than that. Thus divide everything they give for percent registration by six. That brings the national rate of registration down to about 5%.

Cheers

You are probably right, especially since one state has a 226% registration rate.
