Rainbow hippie pleads not guilty to shovel attack A 24-year-old man who prosecutors say smashed another man’s head with a shovel during a July gathering of the Rainbow Family of peace-preaching hippies in Boulder pleaded not guilty to assault and menacing charges on Thursday. Sheriff’s deputies responded at about 6:30 p.m. on July 15 on to a report that a fight had broken out among a group of a dozen people camping in the area.
