Tinnin receives award for husband
Jacksboro resident Bennie Tinnin was recently honored to receive a post-humous award for her husband, Rusty. Rusty Tinnin was the recipient of the Ranch Trailblazers Award at the annual Texas Ranch Roundup Aug. 14-15 in Wichita Falls. Each year, the Roundup recognizes outstanding ranchers who, over a lifetime, have shown in word and deed that they have earned the respect and admiration of the livestock industry. These ranchers never sought limelight or public acclaim. Their successes, in a lifetime pursuit of the cattle business, makes them worthy of consideration as role models for generations to come. Tinnin dedicated his life to ranching in the West Texas/eastern New Mexico area. He chaired the National Cutting Horse Association finals in Amarillo as well as the AgriBusiness Committee of Amarillo Chamber of Commerce. He was recognized with the Salt of the Earth Award of the New Mexico Cattle Growers Association and was the 1999 Cattleman of the Year in New Mexico...GazetteNews
