Madeleine Pickens, an avid horse lover and philanthropist takes her responsibilities seriously and has been in negotiation to privately purchase one million acres in the West to be used as a wild horse sanctuary which would address and finally free the thousands of wild horses currently being held in holding pens. The area would also be available to tourists and be used as an educational facility. Today Madeleine Pickens is continuing her campaign to "correct the deficiencies " in the Wild Horse and Burro Program, ( R.O. A. M.) It would provide a practical approach to setting aside 21 million acres of land as originally designated in the " Herd Management Areas ". Anyone who seriously thinks the BLM is going to bat for ranchers and skewing policies to benefit the beef industry is nuts. Note also the tired, old myth about the wolves.
The proper way to have written this article would be as follows:
"Madeline Pickens is finished spending her own money to save the horses she loves. Now she wants to use the power of the state to take your money to manage the mustangs as she sees fit."
