Guns to be allowed onboard Amtrak trains

Under language inserted into a transportation funding bill last year, Amtrak passengers will be allowed to carry firearms in checked luggage beginning in December. Though the provision was thought to expire later this year, the Government Accountability Office recently held that the legislation is permanent law.
