Alert issued after 3 bitten by foxes

After three people were bitten by foxes suspected of being rabid this month, the Allegheny County Health Department issued an alert to all county residents to avoid the animals as well as raccoons. Two of the incidents were described as surprise attacks. A man from Plum was bitten by a fox as he was cutting brush in a wooded area near his home. A man from Monroeville was bitten while washing his car in the driveway. A man was scratched while breaking up a fight in his Forest Hills front yard between his dog and a fox.
