Six dead victims named
Investigators released the names of the six people who were fatally shot Saturday in an attack on Democratic Rep. Gabrielle Giffords at a political event outside a Tucson supermarket. Giffords was shot in the head and in critical condition at University Medical Center in Tucson. The Pima County sheriff’s office identified the dead as 63-year-old U.S. District Judge John Roll, 76-year-old Dorthy Murray, 76-year-old Dorwin Stoddard, 9-year-old Christina Greene, 79-year-old Phyllis Scheck and 30-year-old Giffords’ staffer Gabe Zimmerman. Giffords, a three-term congresswoman, was among 13 people wounded in the melee. AP
