It's Swingin' Monday on Ranch Radio. Since we'll be heading Out West this week, we offer you the Farr Brothers and their 1940 recording of Swingin' The Bow. You'll recognize their sound from the Sons of the Pioneers recordings. In 1933 Older brother Hugh was asked to join Leonard Slye (Roy Rogers), Bob Nolan and Tim Spencer who had previously been called The Pioneer Trio, and now would be the Sons of the Pioneers. Younger brother Karl joined them a year later.
J.R. Absher wrote and wondered why I hadn't played any Farr Brothers. I thought he was wrong, looked back and checked...and he was right. So today I correct that mistake.
This tune is on their 26 track CD Texas Stomp.
