U.S. Citizen Among Victims Found in Mexican Mass Graves

Mexican authorities have identified a U.S. citizen among the bodies recovered in recent months in mass graves in the northeastern town of San Fernando, the U.S. consulate in Matamoros said Wednesday. “We wish to express our deepest condolences to the victim’s family and condemn this crime in the strongest possible terms,” the consulate said in a statement. The family has decided not to reveal the victim’s name due to privacy considerations, according to the consulate, whose personnel are in contact with the victim’s relatives and currently offering them consular assistance.
