U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar to visit El Paso
U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar and U.S. Bureau of Reclamation Commissioner Michael Connor will be in El Paso next week to learn about the Rio Grande Project and area treatment plants during a regional water conference. Salazar and Connor will tour the Kay Bailey Hutchison Desalination Plant, the world's largest inland desalination plant. The $87 million plant produces 27.5 million gallons of fresh water daily and is a joint project of El Paso Water Utilities and Fort Bliss.
