BLM tickets rancher for fighting fire
JEERS to the BLM for ticketing ranchers for fighting fires on federal land. During the Kinyon Road Fire more than a week ago, Buhl rancher Scott Luby was given a misdemeanor citation for attempting to put out flames. Hagerman rancher Mike Henslee said, with so much at stake, it’s frustrating not to be able to help put out the flames. “This is our livelihood out there,” he said.“Sometimes we’re the first ones on the scene but all we’re allowed to do is watch the fire grow.” It’s a liability issue, BLM spokeswoman Heather Tiel-Nelson said...more
