An illegal alien faces life in prison after pleading guilty Tuesday to first-degree murder in the slaying of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry. Manuel Osorio-Arellanes has been in federal custody since the night
he was wounded in the gun battle that claimed Terry’s life and ignited
the investigation of Operation Fast and Furious 22 months ago. According to CBS News,
Osorio-Arellanes entered the guilty plea in exchange for an agreement
from the U.S. Attorney’s Office not to seek the death penalty. The Arizona Daily Star published the plea agreement. Osorio-Arellanes admitted entering this country illegally to rob drug
traffickers, and that he and his accomplices ran into Terry and other
Border Patrol agents on the night of Dec. 14, 2010, when the gun battle
