The Southern Environmental Law Center, on behalf of three conservation groups, filed an administrative appeal of the U.S. Forest Service’s logging project in the Courthouse Creek area of Pisgah National Forest, the groups announced Wednesday. The appeal was filed on behalf of the Wilderness Society, Wild South and Western North Carolina Alliance. The U.S. Forest Service has said the project is necessary for habitat improvement and forest health.
