Joan Jett Removed From Macy's Parade Float After Ranchers Protest

Joan Jett was scheduled to perform during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade later this month -- and that'll still happen, albeit on a different float.The singer was slated to perform during the annual parade in New York on a float representing South Dakota, but after protests from South Dakotan ranchers, who say the rocker's a vegetarian and critic of their trade, she'll instead take her talents elsewhere, CNN reports. Jett is an outspoken supporter of PETA, appearing in print ads for the animal rights group.
