Ranch Radio's Roots Week will wind up with McVay & Johnson's 1928 recording of Ain't Going To Lay My Armor Down. According to the liner notes on the Yazoo collection that's Ancil McVay on guitar and Roland Johnson on fiddle. Both were born in Kentucky "and were members of one of the all time great Pentecostal groups, Ernest Phipps & His Holiness Singers."
