Udall & Heinrich join Al Franken for an all-nighter Monday...on climate change

At least 28 Senate Democrats plan to spend hours Monday night and early Tuesday speaking on the Senate floor in a push for congressional action on climate change. It's a strategy that's been in the works for several months, organized by Sens. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii) and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), who've been seeking to raise awareness about their concerns on and off the Senate floor. Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) has pledged in recent weeks to continue allowing time for anyone who wants to discuss the issue during the weekly Democratic caucus lunch or on the Senate floor. The format planned for Monday is an extension of floor speeches given regularly by Whitehouse that usually begin with him saying that "it's time to wake up" to climate change. As for whether Senate Democrats would ever actually do something about climate change -- instead of just talking about it -- there currently is no piece of legislation expected to come up for debate soon on the Senate floor. It is unclear whether any such legislation would earn the 60 votes needed to proceed to debate and final passage...more

The list of those participating includes both NM Senators and Al Franken and doggone it, they're bad enough and dumb enough to do this.
