2 Mexican gray wolves killed in New Mexico
Wildlife managers are investigating the deaths of two Mexican gray wolves in New Mexico.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Department says both were found shot to death last month. This came shortly after several recorded attacks on livestock, but it’s unclear if the killings were connected.
There has been a big effort to grow the wolf population in southwestern New Mexico and Arizona. The Arizona Game and Fish Department says they recorded 59 wolves with 18 packs and six single wolves at the end of October.
The program has been hampered by a number of issues ranging from politics to shootings. Rewards are being offered for any information leading to those responsible for the killings. KRQE
