DuBois is a former legislative assistant to a U.S. Senator, a Deputy Assistant Secretary of Interior, and is the founder of the DuBois Rodeo Scholarship.

Enviros: too much vigor at Briger (turtles & snakes, do not partake)
An environmental group whose members blocked a construction entry to the Briger tract early this month say they will stage a bigger protest of the wooded property’s development, on Dec. 5.
Everglades Earth First! opposes the development in progress at the 681-acre site, which straddles I-95 between Donald Ross and Hood roads. The group contends the site is home to gopher tortoises and an endangered snake species, the Easter Indigo and that the land should be left wild.
County and city officials several years ago approved the tract as a future location for companies attracted by the nearby presence of the Scripps Research Institute, and for housing and other uses. Kolter Group has begun development of early phases of the overall plan for the land...more
