Body of Mexican immigrant, water bottle found in desert near Santa Teresa
Authorities found the body of a 36-year-old man in a remote area of the desert near Santa Teresa Saturday evening.
According to the Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office, the body belonged to a Mexican immigrant who may have died from the extreme weather conditions.
Border Patrol agents were patrolling the area when they discovered footprints, and after following the prints for a mile they discovered the body.
Authorities also found an empty water bottle about 15 feet from the body, as well as a pair of boots that reportedly belonged to the victim, officials said.
Agents found two other individuals in the same desert area, officials said. One person was severely dehydrated, and the other had water and appeared to be in good health...more
