Issues of concern to people who live in the west: property rights, water rights, endangered species, livestock grazing, energy production, wilderness and western agriculture. Plus a few items on western history, western literature and the sport of rodeo... Frank DuBois served as the NM Secretary of Agriculture from 1988 to 2003. DuBois is a former legislative assistant to a U.S. Senator, a Deputy Assistant Secretary of Interior, and is the founder of the DuBois Rodeo Scholarship.

Heinrich Wilderness bill for northern NM passes Senate Committee
After reading about the Simpson bill below I went to the Committee website and found the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources also passed S. 1240, the Cerros del Norte Conservation Act, by voice vote. The legislation designates the Cerro del Yuta Wilderness (comprising approximately
13,420 acres) and Rio San Antonio Wilderness (comprising approximately
8,000 acres) within the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument in New
Mexico as wilderness and as components of the National Wilderness
Preservation System. The bill was part of a package of 15 bills approved by the Committee.
