Dozens of rallies are scheduled Saturday in Oregon and around the
country in memory of Robert "LaVoy" Finicum, an armed occupier of an
Oregon wildlife refuge who was killed by state police in January. Hundreds have indicated on Facebook they will attend the rallies at
state Capitols, federal buildings and courthouses in at least 35 states. One of the goals for the rallies is to collect signatures for a petition
urging state and federal authorities to investigate how Finicum died,
said Cherilyn Eagar, a spokeswoman for the Finicum family. Many dispute
the FBI's account of the confrontation and insist Finicum's death was
preventable. Organizers also hope to spread awareness about and protest
the arrests of 25 refuge occupiers, Eagar said. They're all facing
