Ammon Bundy, Ryan Payne to return to Oregon as witnesses

PORTLAND, Ore. — Ammon Bundy and Ryan Payne will return to Oregon to serve as witnesses in a second trial regarding the 2016 takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. The two were among seven occupiers of the refuge to be found not guilty last October for their roles in the refuge takeover. After their acquittals they were then taken to Nevada to stand trial on charges involving another high-profile standoff with federal authorities in 2014 on their father, Cliven Bundy’s cattle ranch. United States District Judge Anna Brown’s Thursday order directs Bundy and Payne’s return to Portland to testify in a second trial of the seven remaining refuge defendants. That trial is scheduled to start Feb. 14. KATU

Why did they add new charges that weren't in the first trial?
Why is the Acting-U.S. Attorney, Billy Williams going after a Native-American kid for buying one joint, with up to one year in jail?
