Interior chief lets employees leave 59 minutes early
Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke is letting department employees leave 59 minutes early for Good Friday.
Vice Motherboard reported that employees were notified Thursday of Zinke’s decision.
“As a small token of our appreciation for all you do to support the American public, Secretary Zinke is authorizing 59 minutes early release,” read an email that went to U.S. Geological Survey employees and was sent to Motherboard.
“I extend best wishes to all our employees for a safe and enjoyable holiday and hope you will spend this special time with family and loved ones,” it read.
Interior did not respond to a request for comment on the matter.
Department policies state that any authorization to leave an hour or more early must be recorded as administrative leave...more
