Like many artists of that era, Gene Autry started out by singing like Jimmie Rodgers, and Autry came closer to yodeling like Rodgers than others were able to do. Recorded in New York City on October 29, 1931 here is High Steppin' Mama Blues. This will go in our Country Roots playlist.
