More than 200 migrants surrender to Border Patrol in Southern New Mexico

A large group of 247 migrants crossed into the country and turned themselves in to Border Patroal agents on Wednesday in southern New Mexico. The group included families with small children and unaccompanied juveniles, a news release from Border Patrol said. The group had paid smugglers to get them to the border and were told by the smugglers to turn themselves into agents working at Camp Bounds Forward Operating Base at Antelope Wells, N.M., the release said. Most of the group came from Central America and cited they had a need for medical care, the release said.
