My wife, Sharon, had surgery for a lump on her neck about
three weeks ago. The diagnosis was stage four lung cancer. Prognosis was 2-3
months without treatment, 2 years with treatment. They then did a biopsy of her
thyroid and found cancer. The doctors said it would be very rare to have cancer
in both systems. This may be good news as the prognosis after thyroid cancer is
better than for lung cancer.
Sharon will have surgery this morning to remove her thyroid
and the lymph glands where the cancer has spread. We won’t know for sure what
her prognosis will be until they compare the cells from each procedure.
