Asylum seekers to be housed at Las Cruces High School gym over Easter break

ABC-7 has learned Las Cruces High School will be used to house immigrants seeking asylum during the Easter break, according to a spokesperson with the Las Cruces Public Schools district. The immigrants are expected to arrive at the LCHS gym Thursday night, where they will remain until Monday. Damien Willis, with LCPS, told ABC-7 the decision to house the migrants at Las Cruces High was made by the Dona Ana County Office of Emergency Management, in coordination with the City of Las Cruces, through a standard use agreement in place.
