Las Cruces Recreation Center to be closed, will house migrants

The Las Cruces Recreation Center will be temporarily housing migrants after Gospel Rescue Mission and the Community of Hope reached capacity, according to the City of Las Cruces Facebook. The city will be using Meerscheidt Recreation Center located at 1600 E. Hadley Ave. The city said it expects about 100 more migrants to arrive on Saturday. Meerscheidt will close to the public at 9 p.m. on Friday and will remain closed until further notice.
