Border Patrol agents apprehend over 1,700 migrants in single day
EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Border Patrol officials said they apprehended over 1,700 migrants from four different groups on Thursday.
Agents said the first large group of 250 migrants was found just after midnight near the Paso del Norte port of entry in downtown El Paso.
The second group of 195 migrants was found an hour later near the Bridge of the Americas.
The third group of 218 migrants was found around 2 a.m. near the Antelope Wells port of entry.
The fourth group of 302 migrants was found before midnight near Mount Cristo Rey in Sunland Park, New Mexico.
Border Patrol agents said the groups mostly consisted of adult men, families and unaccompanied minors from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador...MORE
