Luna County Officials Begin to Prepare for Border Patrol's Immigrant Release
DEMING - Local government officials are working together to deal with what has become a humanitarian crises all over New Mexico.
Luna County and City of Deming officials have been made aware of a pending release of immigrants from the Deming Border Patrol Station into the Deming community.

Chris Brice, Luna County assistant county manager said that the numbers of immigrants to be released in Deming are not exact, but it looks to be in excess of one hundred.
Border Patrol officials have said these persons have been medically cleared and are non-criminal and in most cases they are family units.
In the interest of safety for both local citizens and those being released, the City and County are working jointly to identify temporary shelter, food and water until arrangements can be made to secure transportation of the immigrants to family or friends within the United States...MORE
