Dan Crenshaw: 'Activist' Judges Are Blocking the Trump Administration's Border Agenda
Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) blamed the judicial system on Fox and Friends Monday for impeding Trump’s policy goals on immigration, saying that Republicans are dealing with “a side of the party that doesn’t want to see a solution.”
While Crenshaw appeared on Fox and Friends with representatives Brian Mast (R-FL) and Jim Baird (R-IN) to talk about their transition from military service to public office, the discussion quickly turned into a critique of the Democrat’s refusal to work with Republicans on the crisis at the border.
Crenshaw’s central critique was with federal judges.
“The judicial system is really taking an activist role in preventing Trump from implementing his agenda,” Crenshaw said. And indeed, this is true. The Washington Post reported
that an Obama-appointed judge blocked a Trump administration policy
requiring that asylum seekers stay in Mexico as their request is filed
through immigration courts. And according
to the Daily Signal, federal district judges “have been able to block
President Donald Trump’s actions 30 times through nationwide
injunctions—far more than any other administration in history.”...MORE
