NFL Hall-of-Famer Terry Bradshaw Lists Longtime Ranch in Oklahoma

Football legend and sports broadcaster Terry Bradshaw is ready to part with his longtime ranch after listing it, without a set price, last week. The 744-acre ranch in southern Oklahoma, close to the Texas border and roughly 70 miles from Dallas, has been home to the former Pittsburgh Steelers star and his wife, Tammy, for close to 20 years. Mr. Bradshaw retired from pro football in 1984. During his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team won the Super Bowl four times. The making of the sprawling property, complete with a six-bedroom main house, lakes, ponds and expansive equine facilities—Mr. Bradshaw is a long-time breeder of halter horses—has been a labor of love for the National Football League Hall of Famer. “When I bought the place, there was nothing here,” Mr. Bradshaw, 71, told Mansion Global. “I came on it and I said, ‘Oh boy, this isn't what I want.’” But when he was on the hunt for a new ranch in the early 2000s, the clock was running out on his time to find somewhere else. “I had to get off the place I had leased, so I was in a panic,” he said. After looking at other properties, he returned back to the ranch for a second look and turned back around. He returned for the third time with his father and then bought it. Mansion Global could not independently verify how much he spent on the land. “The first thing I did was hire a guy to clean and get the junk up,” Mr. Bradshaw said. The clean-up marked the start of a roughly 15-year project at a cost of millions of dollars that included building professional equine facilities, such as a stallion barn, a show barn, a breeding facility, a laboratory and an office.
