Super Snow Moon to light up the sky this weekend
What's better than a supermoon? A super snow moon!
That's exactly what will be lighting up the skies this weekend - the first supermoon of 2020.
A "snow moon" is the first full moon in February, named after snow on the ground, according to the Farmer's Almanac. It will also be one of the biggest moons of 2020 - making it a "supermoon."
According to NASA, a full moon becomes a "supermoon" because it will be at the closest point in its orbit around the earth.
Early Sunday morning the moon will be at its fullest, around 1:30 a.m. CST.
