Cheyenne Frontier Days and Chris LeDoux

The 125th Cheyenne Frontier Days™ in July will center on remembering world champion bareback rider and popular rodeo rock & roller Chris LeDoux. A lasting legacy will be a life-and-half size bronze monument to be installed along the Hynds Boulevard side of Frontier Park near Interstate 25. LeDoux moved from Texas to Cheyenne and finished high school there where he first took up playing guitar and singing. Buffalo, WY artist and sculptor D. Michael Thomas' work is now in the hands of Caleco Foundry in Cody. A stainless steel tubing infrastructure is currently being secured and intricate parts, including LeDoux's 110-pound head, are given great attention to detail.
