In determining whether a project is in the public interest, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) voted on Thursday to examine greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the project’s construction and operations — as well as the emissions from when the gas is ultimately burned to make electricity.
Environmental
advocates have long criticized the agency for not considering these
impacts in its reviews, and have more broadly argued that it should stop
approving as many pipelines as it has in the past...MORE

In 2019, we mined 70 Million ounces of Silver to support photo-voltaic solar panels, globally. You have to sift through a volume of earth 1 mile by 1 mile, 8 ft. deep to yield that one mineral and component. Silica, aluminum and other minerals are needed to make the panels and the batteries. The panels only have a life of 25 years then need to be replaced. Inverters 15 years. Batteries 10 to 15 years at best. If the enery commission is going to look at the impact of infrastructure for natural gas, they better look at it for so called renewables, solar and wind.
