Department of Agriculture responds and says report 200,000 cattle to be cut over emissions 'not final policy

The Department for Agriculture has said a report outlining a 200,000 reduction in dairy cows was a “modelling documen".

It was reported yesterday the cows would have to be “culled” at a cost of €600,000 to taxpayers over the next three years to meet climate emissions targets.

A spokesperson for the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine said: “The Paper referred to was part of a – it is one of a number of modelling documents considered by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and is not a final policy decision.

“As part of the normal work of Gov*5........*5ernment Departments, various options for policy implementation are regularly considered.”...more

"modeling document"

"deliberative process"

"part of normal work"

"various options"

"regularly considered"

If ever there was an example of government gobbledygook, this is it!
Do they really "consider" options as drastic as this on a "regular" basis?\
Was this option "considered" and if so, what determinations were made?
Is this option still on the table for consideration?
Apparently, they have payasos in Ireland too.
