TGIFF! Its Fiddle Friday. Some of you may remember the Friday Night Fights sponsored by Gillette razor blades. I watched a bunch of them with my Dad, and I always liked the Gillette theme song. During those years I also used to order records from Uncle Jim O'Neal in CA.- the Rural Rhythm label. One order of fiddle tunes arrived and lo and behold it had the Gillette fight song! The tune is actually  Look Sharp, Be Sharp and Mutt Poston had made a neat fiddle instrumental of the number. Its Swingin’ Monday and we have John England & The Western Swingers with Sweet Jenny Lee. The tune was written by Walter Donaldson and was first recorded by Isham Jones in 1930 and then by Cab Calloway in 1931. It was brought to Western Swing fans by Milton Brown in 1935.
