In his search for a new Supreme Court nominee, President Trump will rely on a list of 25 conservative potential justices that he has been compiling since his campaign for the presidency.
“It will be somebody from that list,” Mr. Trump told reporters at the White House, adding that the search will “begin immediately.”
“They will come from that list of 25 people,” he said.
He updated the roster of potential Supreme Court nominees late last year to include Judges Brett Kavanaugh of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit; Amy Coney Barrett of the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals; Britt Grant of the Georgia Supreme Court; Kevin Newsom of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals; and Patrick Wyrick of the Oklahoma Supreme Court.

As a sitting Senator, it might ease his confirmation, as compared to other candidates. Trump would pick his replacement to serve in the Senate until the next general election.
